Manifestation: Blood stains cover the stairs, and no amount of scrubbing has ever removed them. Sounds and intense feelings of violence fill the log hall.
Directions: Located at Cape Lookout. The house faces Beaufort Inlet.

Manifestation: The images of civil war battle has been witnessed at this spot. The home was used as a hospital by both sides during the conflict.
Directions: Located just off U.S.Hwy 701. The park is 13 miles south of the town of Smithville.

Manifestation: The image of a young girl has been seen in Chambers Hall.
Directions: The College was on a small campus at the center of town.

Manifestation: The Spirit of a man who died in this abandoned mine is responsible for its closure. There is plenty of gold left in it, but no person will go in due to the warnings the Spirit tells.
Directions: The mine is located on a hill near the historic Reed mine.

Manifestation: The sounds of a woman calling for help can still be heard in this abandoned mine.
Directions: The National Historic Landmark is located outside of Charlotte. Take Hwy 24/27 east out of Charlotte for 20 miles to Hwy 200. Follow the road eight miles to the mine.

Location: Gold Hill, Randolph Mine.
Type of Phenomena: Visiting Spirits
Manifestation: Two Spirits seem to exist at the mine's entrance. One is that of a miner murdered at the site. The other is a grisly vision of body parts floating toward onlookers.
Directions: Gold Hill is a small community located about 25 miles northeast of Charlotte on U.S.Hwy 29.

Manifestation: This is one of the typical hitch-hiker Spirits. A young woman stops cars asking to take her to her home. But as they approach the destination, she vanishes.

Manifestation: Some have reported seeing a light swinging down the tracks, similar to that of a lantern. Soon, the sound of a train is heard followed by the sound of a crash.
Directions: Located just outside the town of Maco, over the old Wilmington-Florence-Augusta tracks.

Manifestation: An MIS who appears as a Human Spirit has attacked people traveling near the river.
Directions: The old tavern no longer exists, but sightings have been reported near the river on the French Broad from Marshal to Painted Rock.

Directions: Now a state historic park, it is located south of Wilmington on a peninsula between the Cape Fear River and the ocean. The fort is located where the highway ends at the tip of the peninsula.
