The photo on the left shows the old entertainment room in the Old Washoe Club, formerly The Millionaires Club, Virginia City, Nevada. We can see the red-brick wall space broken by a draped mirror resembling a window. An antique-style table with carved-wood mirror frame is beneath the wall mirror.
The image of what appears to be a face with dark, hollow eyes gazes from the upper right section of the wall mirror. Reflected in the lower mirror are three colorful configurations like striped fat raindrops in rose, turquoise, and yellow hues.
When Sheryl Hicks took this photo in the summer of 1994, nothing of a ghostly nature appeared to be in the room. However, after looking closely at the prints, she was startled to see a woman's face looking from the upper right corner of the glass. Was she Lena, a prostitute murdered in the 1870s in the club ?

In 1999, Sherly Hicks was curious to find out if Shasta Supernatural Investigators could verify her findings. That's us in the picture above. From left to right, Nick Papas, Mark James, and Founder, Craig S. Martin, still recovering from recent spinal surgery.

Witnesses at the Washoe Club verified the existence of Spirit Activity in the building over the years. And to our luck, we were able to capture Spirit Orb images on film in the main Bar Room/ Pool Room area. Note, the three Spirit Orbs floating near the old Safe located in the right corner of the room, beyond the Pool Table. When the picture was enlarged, we were easily able to see the three Spirit Orbs floating in front of the safe and old Mirror area. High EMF meter readings in this area helped in the decision to take the picture. Here again is evidence that Spirit Activity does occur and can be captured on film during afternoon, daylight hours.

The most activity in the building has been located in the old Entertainment Room, at the rear of the Bar Room. Now a storage room, this area was once the focus of the Paranormal Investigation by Sheryl Hicks and other Paranormal Groups. In this room, a Spirit, who called herself Lena, told stories of her life as a prostitute, her murder in an upper bedroom, and following cover-up by local officials. The bathtub, in which Lena was supposedly murdered, is still in the same room on the upper floor. However, the upper floor has been sealed off due to unsafe conditions. The area behind all the furnishings seen here is where the picture of "Lena" in the mirror were taken.

The Spiral Staircase, which lies just beyond the door leading from Bar Room/Pool Room, and which members of the Millionaires Club used to use to enter the entertainment area on the upper floors, is the location where many have seen the image of Lena standing on the risers. Although Mr. Martin got a good reading around the staircase on his EMF meter, no image was captured on film.
Readings in the Ice Room, once used as storage for ice in the summer, and a storage place for the dead waiting for Spring-time thaw and burial, showed good EMF meter readings toward the center and rear of the room. In this room, much MIS activity has been seen. Toward the ceiling of the room, we can see the old stairs which prostitutes used to take which lead to the private entertainment chambers of the Millionaires Club. In this way, the Lady's of The Evening could not be seen by the general public, as they moved about the building.
Another place which was supposed to have some activity was the women's restroom, where women have complained of being touched by unseen hands while using the wash basin. However, upon our examination, we found no evidence of Spirits or Spirit Energies through film or EMF reading.
Another Spirit has been seen at the bar. An old man sits and drinks in shadowy form, while leaving behind a smell of strong ether. This strong odor often overpowers those who sense it, leaving them quite nauseous. Once, while conducting a seance to contact Lena in the Entertainment Room, the smell of ether was so strong, it caused all involved in the seance to leave the room. People in the Bar Room area complained that they too could smell the strong scent of ether.

As Nick Papas and Lisa Martin, Craig S. Martin's wife, look on, a Spirit Orb appears above the safe at the rear of the saloon. This Orb preceded the three seen in the pictures above. The Orb is seen just above the woman's head as she stands just in front of the pool table.
